Common Internet Problems On RCN
What Is RCN?
What Is RCN?
RCN is a Residential Commercial Network that provides three solutions in one bundle. Cable, phone, internet.
Common Internet Connectivity Problems And Their Solutions?
You can solve many common internet problems by power cycling the cable modem and router. Unplug all the cables from the cable modem and router for 60 seconds and then replug them back in. If that doesn't solve the phone, internet, and, cable problems go into "Start", "Control Panel", "Network And Internet", "Network Sharing Center." "View Status." There is supposed to be access to local and internet only.
There is never supposed to be a local network together with the local and internet network in one bundle. When a local network appears it knocks off the local and internet area connection off line.
In that case disable the local network, and reset network adapter on the local and internet network and that should fix the problem with your limited IPV6 Connectivity which is a local connection or IPV4 Connectivity which is your internet connection. And remove the X which on the tray bar indicates no internet connection at all.
You can also diagnose and repair by right-clicking your computer mouse and then clicking on "Diagnose And Repair", option. If, Windows will not find a problem with your internet connection just click okay or sent a free error report to Microsoft. If Windows will find a problem with your internet connection just click either reset network adapter or get new Automatic IP Settings.
If all these troubleshooting tips don't help then call RCN for assistance or to even schedule a technician to come and fix the problem on-site.

P.S. I hope this technical blog was very helpful to RCN users and also sometimes an RCN technician could even replace the modem if it burned out completely.
